dicas, the German video coding specialist, has delivered its flagship software product, mpegable DS Suite, to Virtual Trip in Greece to provide software encoding of live streams from USB cameras as part of Virtual Trip's "CONN-X VIEW" service.

mpegable DS Suite is the first set of DirectShow filters worldwide that offers support for MPEG-4, 3GPP and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compliant encoding and decoding is a very popular choice among content creators powering the delivery of many Mobile TV channels, transcoding content for mobile devices, providing accurate playback for professional broadcast applications, enabling content creation in multimedia applications and much more. mpegable DS Suite offers functionalities ranging from video coding and audio coding to RTP Streaming and MP4 / 3GP File capabilities.

Virtual Trip (www.vtrip.net) has recently announced its agreement with OTE SA Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (www.ote.gr) for launching the ‘CONN-X VIEW’ value-added service. ‘CONN-X VIEW’ will be offered bundled to the ‘CONN-X’ ADSL solution, which is the leading ADSL solution in the Greek market.

CONN-X VIEW offers two types of services:

• Surveillance of personal sites through GPRS mobile phones or internet-connected PCs, and,
• Entertainment, through a user-generated content driven, real-time multimedia community portal with both mobile- and regular web-access.

Real time video sources may include IP cameras, snalogue cameras through video encoders and USB cameras with software encoding.

CONN-X View services is powered by the mVision™ (www.mvision.gr) real-time video delivery platform, developed and distributed by Virtual Trip.

IP Cameras and Video encoders are provided by AXIS Communications (www.axis.com), models Axis 207 w and Axis 241q.
