dicas improves two-dimensional Forward Error Correction

dicas further improved the Forward Error Correction (FEC) functionalities of its successful MPEG-4 portfolio. The complementary hardware products dicas2010 SD (encoder) and dicas2015 SD (decoder) as well as the software suite mpegableDS (a set of DirectShow filters designed for end-user video software applications) are available now with an outstanding error resilience tool.

Although FEC adds redundant data to the original data packets to enable the receiver to reconstruct eventually lost data, dicas technology does not bloat the data bit rate. Fully compliant with Pro-MPEG's Code of Practice 3r2 the two-dimensional dicas FEC renders possible accurate data transport despite defective transport channel.
